IGCAT Launches Regional Chef Ambassadors Initiative

Ambassadors Launch

Dr. Diane Dodd, President of IGCAT, and Stamatis Misomikes, winner of the European Young Chef Award 2016, have officially signed a protocol to launch a new initiative: the IGCAT Regional Chef Ambassadors network.

Building on the Success of the European Young Chef Award

This agreement follows the success of the first edition of the European Young Chef Award, where ten talented chefs from different European regions competed using local products and innovating on traditional recipes.
Following the competition, nine young finalists signed a protocol to become IGCAT Regional Chef Ambassadors, committing to support regional cuisine and promote local products in their professional journeys.

Supporting Young Talent and Culinary Innovation

The European Young Chef Award is organised and promoted by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT).
Its main goal is to highlight distinctive food cultures, strengthen links between regions, and support young chefs in launching their careers. The competition encourages participants to explore culinary innovation while respecting traditional cuisine and local ingredients.

A Global Network for Sustainable Food Futures

The Regional Chef Ambassador programme gives greater visibility to young chefs while spreading IGCAT’s message that cultural and food diversity are essential for a sustainable future.
Through this initiative, emerging chefs become advocates for their regions, inspiring communities to value food as a cultural asset.
